May is National Water Safety Month and Kyle Chaikin, CBP, CSP, of Chaikin Ultimate Pools, Bayshore, NY, is proud to have embraced the water safety goal. Kyle, as President of the Long Pool & Spa Association, developed the KidSwim Long Island water safety initiative. This project earned him the Northeast Spa & Pool Association’s 2009 “Member of the Year”. Since the KidSwim Long Island program was initiated, over 10,000 kindergarten students have benefited from the message of water safety. Check LIPSA’s website for information regarding the program.
This year, Kyle has been instrumental in promoting water safety by partnering KidSwim with the Long Island Drowning Prevention Task Force and the National Drowning Prevention Alliance to ensure that the message continues to be first and foremost in the minds of everyone. Look for Kyle as “Gus” in upcoming KidSwim presentations at our local school districts, as well as other programs sponsored by APSP and at National Water Safety Month (dot) Org.
