NESPA Award Winners Announced

Deer Park, Long Island Pool Construction Company Wins Multiple NESPA Awards

HAMILTON, NJ – The Northeast Spa & Pool Association (NESPA) recently named its winners in its Outstanding Achievement Awards – Builders and Service Competitions. In the Commercial Builders category, Long Island Pool Construction company the Ultimate in Pool Care/Chaikin Ultimate Pools was awarded the Silver Award for their outstanding design of a commercial pool.

The company was also awarded NESPA’s prestigious Gold Award in the Service Competition for their exemplary customer service and customer relations.

This year more than four dozen companies submitted over one hundred and fifty entries between the Builders Competition and the Service Competition resulting in 84 awards being given across all categories. Competition was once again high as these awards continue to be viewed within the industry as a benchmark of professional achievement.

In the Builders Completion, each pool was judged based on creativity, functionality, project cohesiveness and overall cohesiveness with the environment. The Outstanding Achievement Awards – Builders Competition recognizes NESPA members whose installation of pools, spas, hot tubs and water features represent the best our industry has to offer.

“The caliber of this [Builders] competition continues to grow each year and it’s always exciting to see new companies stepping up to share their work,” said Frank Borrelle, President of the Northeast Spa & Pool Association. “These top of the line builders represent the best of the best in our industry and really highlight the great work done by our members.”

As for the Service Competition, each company was judged by their customers, who were asked to rate the customer service they received over the last year. The companies were judged on six categories of service which included response time, service performance for repairs, employee appearance and attitude, recommendations and overall performance.

“For this [Service] award, we go straight to the customers. We ask the tough questions about service and professionalism and the awardees this year, clearly represent the best of the best in pool and spa service,” said Borrelle. “It is rewarding to see our service companies being recognized for the care they put into their jobs and the high quality of service they provide throughout the season and beyond.”

“It is an honor to be recognized by other professionals from across the country who judged this year’s Outstanding Achievement Awards competitions,” said Kyle Chaikin, President of the Ultimate in Pool Care/Chaikin Ultimate Pools. “For many years we have been regarded as one of the top builders in our region, and we continue to drive ourselves in the pursuit of excellence. Ed Cohen, our CEO, is a Genesis 3 Gold Member and is working toward his SWD (Society of Watershape Designers) certification in the Genesis 3 program, while I am a sitting member of the APSP National Builders Education Committee and APSP National Builders Council where I am taking part in revamping the Builders Manual and helping to drive the future of pool construction across the country. With this approach we intend to remain among the top builders in both the design and the construction of swimming pools.”

About service, Chaikin stressed “Providing exceptional service is the culture at our company. It starts at the top. There is nobody in our organization who is not 100% committed to customer service. The Builders Competition recognizes NESPA members whose installation of pools, spas, hot tubs and water features represent the best examples of the industry’s products. It is also meant to provide other NESPA members with inspiration for their own creativity and innovation; therefore, expanding the opportunities for industry members and positive exposure to the public.

The Service Award recognizes and rewards NESPA members whose quality of service and repairs is also paired with a high level of customer service. Recognized companies meet their professional challenges while maintaining a positive, accommodating and informative attitude with their customers.
